The Council's Constitution

Cambridgeshire County Council has a Constitution which sets out how the Council operates and makes decisions, along with the procedures it follows to ensure efficiency, transparency and accountability to local people.

There are seven parts to the Constitution, with links to these sections and the individual chapters below:

A1 (The Constitution) - the purpose of the constitution and how it is managed, amended and interpreted.

A2 (How the Council Operates) - who works for the council and how the decision-making process is carried out.

D3 (Procedure Rules for Urgent Decisions and Decision Review) - how urgent decisions can be taken by committees or the Chief Executive, and the procedure for reviewing decisions.
