Cambridgeshire Highways donates £10,000 to Road Victims Trust

Cambridgeshire Highways, the partnership between Cambridgeshire County Council and Milestone Infrastructure, which maintains the county’s road network, has donated £10,000 from its Social Value Fund to the Road Victims Trust.

The Road Victims Trust (RVT) is a charity that offers emotional and practical support to anyone living in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk affected by a serious road collision. The RVT also offers online or telephone support to people living outside these areas.

The RVT services are available to individuals and families and anyone who is bereaved, is involved, witnesses or is affected in any way by a serious collision.

We will continue to work tirelessly to eradicate all road injuries and deaths on the roads of Cambridgeshire and make it a safer place for everyone"

Simon Burgin, Road Safety Manager, Cambridgeshire County Council, added: "The Road Victims Trust is a key partner in our Vizion Zero aspirations. Every death and injury on our roads is one too many. I have witnessed firsthand the invaluable support that the RVT volunteers provide to families and loved ones at a time of great sadness and loss. Whatever type of road user you are, please share the road space responsibly and do all you can to keep yourself and others safe."
